This place is cute! They have a good variety of food for breakfast and lunch, and the atmosphere is so lovely! It makes me feel like I'm in a little cottage town or having a tea party! A good place for a casual order at the counter breakfast or a coffee meeting. The food is good, but not the best thing I've had. Sherman Oaks needs more places like this, so I will take what I can get! I will be back, but the food isn't anything I would crave.
SERVICE: Clean, nice atmosphere, super hot (not enough air flow), pleasant staff. Meter/street parking that was easy for me - I went around 1130am on a weekday. The place is broken into two areas. To the left is where you order food and bakery items. They give you a cute table "number" and ours was Sugar. There's outdoor seating in the front and outdoor alley area. That is where my images are taking place. Cute and rustic. FOOD: I ordered the chicken and waffles which I knew was going to be just ok. Why? Because when you serve chicken and waffles and they offer strips, the meat is going to be dry and flavorless - always! SBK did their best but it lacked salt but again, I already knew it would. I was just pretending to be hopeful. WELL: It's close to my job and reasonable so I'll return, but it's not because the food was amazing lol.
Perfect place to grab a bite to eat in the studio city area. The staff was very kind and frequently checked on our table. A very cozy atmosphere. I recommend the barbecue wrap for lunch. Delicious!
Haven't been here in a while. I took my mom out to lunch earlier today and really enjoyed our time here. Beautiful restaurant with patio seating all around. The ambiance is great. Customer service was friendly and attentive. The iced coffee was delicious so was the Chinese chicken salad. The BLT was ok but a bit disappointing cause there was only three pieces of small bacon inside with a price tag of $17 plus $3 for a quarter of an avocado. The French fries that came with it was delicious and we enjoyed it much. Overall a much better experience than previous visits which has been a while. I'll be back for sure.
I would definitely come back. My waffle was really good and so was the iced coffee. Everyone was really nice and attentive. From the host to the servers. Love the decor and the outdoor seating. But I will say the fans they have are more for aesthetic than actually providing comfort. We sat in the seating area that is technically considered indoors but it was kind of hot because we had no breeze coming through. Also it was hard to get a sense of where the line was to order but overall had a really good experience.
I've lived down the street from Sweet Butter for years and I'm kicking myself that I've just finally discovered it! I've come here several times now, and have not been disappointed once. Even when it's super busy, it's easy to to get in and out of here with little to no hassle. This is a great place to come with friends or colleagues as you order and pay at the counter so there's no need to split a tab - venmo who? The cashier will then give you a table marker and you can chose where you sit when it's not busy and they will seat you when they're on a wait. I love how diverse their menu is, they really do have everything from breakfast sandwiches, to omelettes, to pancakes and french toast. They also act as a cafe serving fresh baked pastries, coffee, and teas. I am obsessed with their Bistro Breakfast Sandwich and love how it comes with a side of lightly dressed arugula to get some greens in first thing in the morning. I also always order a hot chai latte which I love to sip and people watch at one of the outdoor tables on the patio. This place is definitely popular so if you want to avoid the crowd best time to come is probably early morning. I love the Parisian/European feel especially when sitting on the patio. Reminds me of city in a cafe in the city center! I am definitely a big fan of Sweet Butter and will be coming back soon.
Sweet Butter, what a beautiful, tender and intimate name, for a kitchen, cafe and market with a Parisian flair. You can find this establishment on Ventura Boulevard, in Sherman Oaks. There is French music in the background, both indoor and outdoor European style tables by the street, to complete the relaxing ambiance during your visit. You order inside, they give you a table holder (no numbers, but names like Sugar, Parsnip, Pear, etc) and you choose any of the vacant tables on the premises. Food and beverages are then brought to you. The menu is magnetic, because there are so many delicious options. From drinks, baked goods, breakfast selections to lunch or even early dinner favorites. I chose one of the daily specials, a slice of Tomato Swiss Basil Quiche. It arrived at the table accompanied by fresh and crispy salad greens with the perfect amount of vinaigrette. The Quiche was exceptional, soft, fluffy, moist and melting on your taste buds. The cherry tomatoes were either whole or cut in halves, juicy and distributed evenly within the Quiche. The crust was flaky, tasty and with optimum texture. The coffee here is fantastic (I like it Americano style, with no diluents). Service was outstanding, several staff members constantly checking on you and your well being. I must confess, I stumbled on this place by accident, during a search for a breakfast spot. And.... Ooh La La - Le Magnifique.
